bookmark a thread

Post by bgwss »

There have been several threads that I have wanted to go back to and have had difficulty remembering a key word that would distinguish from many other posts with the same key word. Any way to book mark a thread so you can refer back to it in some way?

Under the posts, below the two buttons that say "New Topic" and "Post Reply" there's a link to "Watch this topic for replies". Clicking that will email you when the thread is updated.

Yeah I saw that but if is old thread you want to refer back to I am not sure that will work. For example I was wanting to remember a thread that had Voodoo and there are bunch of those threads. I had to go through all of them to get to the one I wanted.

I know it's the obvious option, but sometimes those are missed the easiest... you could always bookmark them in your browser and organize them by topic.

Finding old threads that you didn't track is a completely different subject.

If I'm understanding you correctly you could immediately after bookmarking a thread, right click it,click properties, then re-name the thread to something that you understand. That should end any confusion.

I right click on the topic in the forum that I want to reference and save it in a folder on my desktop using the "Save Target As" and give it a name that I will remember. To get back to it, just double click the icon. I'm using the Microsoft browser but others probably have something like this.

It sounds like what Tazio is asking for is thread subscription. Many forums have it... basically a list of all the threads that you deem important and want to refer back to in the future, whether or not there is a new post.

That would be a very useful forum enhancement actually. I don't think MB has a forum to discuss the forum, so you might want to just PM ericalm directly and ask.
