Modern Buddy

No mechanical knowledge.

I had the Pink Buddy 125 plugged into Battery Tender all winter (MN) with Stabl in gas tank. A couple weeks ago took it out for several rides and no problem. Then last week it wouldn't start.

I put the battery tender on it again and got the green light. Took it off and it still won't turn over. Kept doing this for the last week --green light on battery tender, but it won't start.

Note: I did leave the key "on" overnight or possible for an entire day and night.

Do I need a new spark plug?

Do I need a new battery?

Note: My hubby is in hospital so he usually helps with this but physically unable to now.

if you left the key on all night as it was charging on the battery tender then you might have fried your coil

It does try to start but it doesn't have enough to turn over the engine to start it up.

It isn't that there is nothing happening when I try to start it.

I'm assuming it kick starts? Your battery could be shot. When you say that it tries to turn, does it crank but won't catch? Or does it not even turn the motor? If it's #2 your battery is too weak. The tender is telling you that it has all the power it will hold, but it doesn't have enough cranking amps to get the job done.

Make sure the battery connections are tight on the posts.

I had the same problem when I left the key on... for 3 weeks.

I hooked up to the battery tender for 2 days and it "flashed" green. but no charge.

I took it to a local battery shop and he told me it was too flat to charge with the tender and needed to be put on a normal charger for a couple hours.

It worked and still does.

How do I know if the cables are on the post tight enough?

There is a screw/washer on top of post, so I put the pinchers on each side but not on top of the silver metal that has the washer.

I can't kick start it. I've tried but don't have enough strength to do it.
Last year I had a young man kick start it for me and he even had trouble getting it to start. I have watched You Tube videos on how to do it, but I have not had success starting it that way. Sure wish I could.

Maybe it is time to buy a new battery.
