Hi all. I just had my SI delivered from POC this past Monday. It's my first scooter, and I rode for an hour yesterday, and again tonight. What fun!

As an FYI -- POC was great, in fact my speedometer is not working and they're going to fix it tomorrow (no charge of course). They even offered to pick it up and re-deliver it. I guess it's a problem on some SI's. So Phil and the group at POC have been top notch.

Anyway, glad to be in the club.

I may be biased but POC has gotta be the best dealer...anyway see the ride thread. You should come. Tim is a great ride planner and the people are always real nice. It is fine not knowing anyone, b/c many people come on their own. plus we can droll over your SI

Wish I could ride, but I have a b-day party that day out of town. Next one.

Welcome, Chris. Hope to see you around on one of the rides or at the next VCOC meet (all welcome, although no Buddies there last Wednesday.)

Where are you in the greater Cleveland area?

^ well when you call it the "VESPA club of Cleveland" whata expect? I realize there were other scooters there...but it seems like the name is excluding anyone not on a V.

SMorris...I'm in Lakewood.

I do agree with peabody that calling it the Vespa club is a bit off-putting. If a club is inclusive, it should have a title that reflects that stance -- that seems to be the way every other org/club works.

You know, if you show up at a Harley D. club in a Honda your going to be shown the road... TBS, I do appreciate the invite, and I look forward to seeing you on a ride soon. THX

I didn't name it. Larry Riley did when he was at Vespa Cleveland. We already had POC and the Rovers in Cleveland, but there was bad blood. VCOC was created to bridge that gap, or at least try. Guess not, huh?

But come on. You guys know me. I have no club affiliation, and am not above riding with anyone. I don't subscribe to the scooter culture thing. I just love to ride. That's why I hang out with POC, VCOC, and Rovers people. They're all scooterists, just like me.

Show up. Propose a name change. Domain names are only about $15/year.

I rode on the last ride with Rovers (at least the one they put out there for all!) very cool people with awesome scooters, although I am guessing they were ashamed to be seen with modern scooters. I got the jist they like to be able to hang out and talk vintage 2 stroke and not have to explain to the slow kids in the class. I certainly would not show up at one of their rides w/o an invite! I am facinated though about this "bad blood" -sounds facinating. I love that kinda stuff. I will surely pump you for info in person. And I will vouch for Smorris as a great scooter enthusiast as well as ride photographer! Tim who is organizing the ride is a really nice guy too.
