LEAKING GASOLINE

Help please! I parked my buddy at work, and heard a sizzle pop down by the muffler. When I looked, gas droplets were falling from a hole in the body (or a hole where a wire bundle came out). Not a stream, just droplets that eventually stopped.
The dealer said they would stop by work and check it out. They mentioned something about a 'resoivor' (spelling it wrong, I know) collector for fuel that 'didn't get used', and that maybe that can leak.
Any ideas suggestions opinions most gratefully welcome.....I do NOT want to be the scooter version of ghostrider

Did you recently fill it up to the very top? I have had gas leak out of my St. Tropez (same engine etc as your BJ) from what sounds like the same spot, when I have over filled it. Dripping stopped very shortly afterwards, smell of gas lasted a day or so, and then all went back to normal. Just remember to leave an inch or so room to spare when filling up.

+1 on the gas overfilling, I've had the same thing happen. If you still have the carbon can, it'll be full of gas also, so you may have vapor lock later if you don't already have a vented gas cap.
When I removed my carbon can and tubing, I ran the gas tank vent/overflow tube to the other side under the engine since I don't like the gas getting all over everything when this happens.

There's a vent hose that unfortunately drips right out onto the exhaust if you overfill the gas. Thats likely what you're seeing.

The dad & son from the shop were cool enough to pop out to my work and have a look, and explained all what y'all are talking about. I was a bit fuzzed, as I don't overfill the tank (or at least I thought I wasn't), but they expalined what it was (overflow) and also that fortunately, they drill a hole in the fuel cap, to prevent vapor lock.
Hats off to them, and to you all for advice and help. Man, i was all set to cruise after sundown, lights a-blazin', then gas is leaking and I'm freaking...
Gonna buy the shop bbq lunch sometime for that above and beyond service. Thanks again to all for advice
