Must see's in Denver?

I will be in Denver next week to show at the Cherry Creek Arts Festival and we are going to expand the trip for a few days. We are planning several day trips into the mountains, but have reserved a couple of days for Denver proper. Any input into what to see, and where to eat would be great! I do understand that there are some excellent microbrew pubs in Denver and I don't want to miss those.

Go to Bull and Bush. It's right off cherry creek Blvd a couple blocks east of Colorado. Best beer and atmosphere in town.

Check out the Wynkoop downtown. Railyard Ale is real good. One of the originals in (the revitialized) LoDo area.

We go to the Cherry Creek fest every year, we'll look for you. What media do you work in?

A couple of good brewpubs have already been mentioned and I'll add the Wynkoop in Lodo is the original, at least for Denver. We also like the Breckenridge, near Coors Field and a small, new one (blanking on the name) at the intersection of 32nd and Tejon. That's just a couple of blocks away from Sportique scooters, if you're interested in seeing the local shops.

Denver is a fun city with lots of good restaurants. The Mexican food in the area is great, if you'd like to know some of our personal faves PM me. Like every other city, the restaurant scene changes daily but the "hottest" place for the past year or two might be Rioja in Larimer Square. Tell us what kind of food you like and we'll add more.

Is this your first trip here? If so, you should check out the high country. Two good places to experience the mountains are Mt. Evans and Rocky Mountain National Park. Both have paved roads that top 10,000 feet, way above tree line.

Is Casa Bonita still around?

I remember watching the cliff divers while eating there about 25 years ago.

Yes it is, but not really the place I'd recommend for someone with a taste for brewpub brews. Or mexican food.

Thanks for the tips folks. We are planning on both Rocky Mt National park and Mt. Evans. I will plan on hitting a couple of Mexican restaurants. The one's in my part of the world are pretty bland.

I am going to be on Detroit St. in booth #195. I do wood vessels.
