Nobody knows the size and or dimensions of the Buddy belt? Some of you 10,000+ miles guy/gals have had to have replaced your belt by now.

The manual says: “Belt width (mm) 20.0~21.0; Limit of use (mm) 19.0”
Whatever that means

I cannot find teeth or outer dimensions.

If anyone is interested i found out what size belt the Buddy uses. The stock belt is 743-20-28 and the 743-20-30 from MRP-speed.com will work and is Kevlar. Check the links below. If anyone else knows of a better place to get this belt please post it.

How will I know when it's time to replace the belt? Is it a case of just waiting for it to break? Are there warning signs? ie. I wanna change it before a broken belt leaves me stranded, but I don't wanna go to that expense before it's time.

I was told about 10,000 - 15,000 from Scooterworks. I am only at 1,100 miles so far so it's tough to say right now. Maybe some of the guys that are at 10,000+ could chime in.

You will feel a noticeable diminishing in power and acceleration as the belt deteriorates. I'm at 9600 miles right now, and I have one (and a set of roller weights) ordered from my dealer. Several people have changed them out and noticed quite a difference in power and acceleration.

So are you saying that roller weights and the belt should be changed at about 10,000?

I'm planning to do it. Need it or not. And my friend Isaac (Lou76) changed his out at about 6000 miles and saw a marked difference.

Very nice. I just placed an order for a kevlar belt and some Dr. Pulley 12g rollers. I'll let everyone know what they are like when i get them.

Well i installed the Dr. Pulley rollers. I bought 12g and did not notice any top speed difference at all. But the Dr. Pulley rollers do seem to give me a lot smoother acceleration. Not sure if that alone is worth $25 but at least i know now. I'm thinking that if i would have went with some 13g or 14g rollers i probably would have noticed some better top end speed. I did not install the Kevlar belt only for the fact that i know that it will not provide any performance difference, i just like to have a spare and it might as well be Kevlar.

Did you replace it yourself? How hard was it and what did the process entail?

It was very easy. Take off the cover and if you have some basic tools you should be able to do it. I was probably done is less than 30 minutes. Sorry but i did not take pictures, now kicking myself for not doing that as i'm sure many on here might have appreciated it.
