Alternates to the 101 in Southern California

Post by Tony »

Hi Everyone-

For all you LA scooterists: How would you recommend I get from Hollywood to Thousand Oaks?

I am perfectly ready to experiment with some alternate routes, but if anyone else has made this trek and has some words of wisdom, I would appreciate it.

Thanks!!!

Use mapquest and click on avoid highways. Using the 101 will mean a shorter 33 mile journey but if you can't go on the freeways then it'll be 43 miles.

I wouldn't exactly follow those directions, but it depends on from where-to-where. I go from the Valley to & from Hollywood every day, usually via Barham/Olive through Burbank or Ventura/Cahuenga/Highland. But if I'm further west, I'll take a canyon route: Crescent Heights to Laurel Canyon, or from Beverly Hills Coldwater Canyon or Beverly Glen.
