I just saw this because the commercial had a blue classic vespa in the background, turns out he has a whole monolgue in there about making fun of riding a scooter. It's kinda funny but really just the same tired jokes that they go slow, you look like a dork, well he does on it because he thought his wife was getting him a motorcycle and he bought all the harley type gear but she got him a scooter. The special is called Bill Engval 15 degrees from cool, on Comedy central.

Middle-aged guy who wants a Harley. What does that say about him? One word, compensating. Not constipation! Which could be a problem for some guys his age whose idea of exercise is walking behind his power driven lawnmower every Saturday.
Before all you middle agers start howling, I'm a year away from 50 myself. I teach classes at the gym to people half my age and they can't keep up.

Yep, the whole "you look dorky on a scooter" thing still is widespread. I was riding to work the other day and a couple of teenagers at a bus stop pointed and laughed... which made me smile. It's a 105 degrees out, you're waiting for the bus hoping that it won't be too long before it shows up (could be up to a half hour), you'll have to get places on their schedule which will take a long time, and it's going to cost you $1 each way. Meanwhile, the dork on the scooter is going where he wants when he wants, and he's going to be paying 30 cents in gas to get to work and back. If that's what looking dorky on a scooter means, then I'll take it.

Gee, so sorry that I missed the debut of his lame-assed sitcom.

One of my scooter t-shirt sayings is; "90 m.p.g. -- NOW who's the DORK!"

I think the more scooterish the scooter looks the cooler .... even the color being "loud" like the sunset Buddy better yet .... in just the last month 4 people at work got brand new scooters ... 3 of them have the "crotch rocket wannabe" look ....they are cool .... but still like the vintage scooterish look

My favorite was the other day...
Frat-boy jughead type in stupid-big tired monster truck:
"Ha ha ha ha ha, look at the little bike!" (while pointing at me)
Me (in his voice):
"Ha ha ha ha ha, look at the little dick!" (while making jesture showing the size of his manhood)
classic fun.
