Modern Buddy

I rode out to my folks house today and just went over 2000 Miles on my buddy, the sad part about riding to my folks house today is I got to see my younger brother there, We had a great a visit but his presence at my folks house was for a reason..........

A month or so ago he was at work and a co-worker found him about 45 minutes after he had fallen and hit his head, the doctors stated he had a seizure and tests results show something on his brain that caused him to pass out, they have him on anti-seizure medication and he is not allowed to be left alone and he is not allowed to work at this juncture, needless to say the medical bills and other bills have piled up quickly on them and him and his wife are feeling the stress and anxiety.

I just saw on the Genuine site how someone is doing a Scooter Ride across the U.S. too raise awareness on Peace etc.........has anyone ever done a organized scooter ride to raise money for a family in need?

If Anyone has any thoughts or suggestions I would greatly appreciate it, my brother got to see my Buddy for the first time and he loved it and wants one someday, of course that will be when he is allowed to be alone and operate a vehicle again..at this point he is not even allowed to drive for obvious reasons.

I don't know about any scooter rides for a family in need, but why not? Maybe you could organize it, get local churches/civic groups, etc. involved, maybe get sponsorship and donations. Alix, the Peace Rider, has a web site
and it contains a Paypal donation button, so people can make donations using their paypal account. I'd be willing to bet that with the right kind of effort/organization/publicity, you could raise a significant amount of money. People seem to respond when they can relate with the human level of need.

I know some clubs have done fundraisers for people with medical conditions. And there's a "Christmas in July" thing put on by the Centurions here in Philly. So yeah, the sky's the limit, I bet.
