I remember seeing one from yesteryears at the Peterson's Exhibit in Hollywood. That's awesome to bring it back!

Cool look, but like the Yamaha C3, I'm not sure your average American is ready for that Motocompo here. I've only seen a couple of C3s' around these parts and there are
a lot of scooters in San Francisco.

Yeah, but now they could make one that tucked neatly into a Honda Element, along with a hoist accessory to lift it smoothly. Think of the possibilities!

I like the Zoomer in the same link. ruckus-looking.

do not want
way to go, honda. bring back something that tanked the first time around and seems an oddity, at best. that'll get the nation scooting!
i bet dealers can't wait 'til it starts eating up valuable floor space

No doubt you'll hear about someone "surfing" on one of these...

If that's the future I'll stay in the past.

Unfortunately, Honda has discontinued the Element. So, unless you own one, or buy one used, you're out of luck.

I actually kind of dig the look of that thing. Sometimes I'm nostalgic for something retro- but retro looks are very touchy for me. If you can't pull it off right, I'd just as soon see something totally different and new. If the 'luggage' compartment is roomy and functional it make the design even better IMO.
That said the boxy shape is somewhat reminiscent of the Silver Pigeon.

Of course, the car this scooter was actually designed to
Fit into is sold here and awfully darn successful, at that...
Edit: one link says Fit, one says City. Looks like the old city was closer in shape to the Fit of today. I think it would work.

Sorry...couldn't resist. There are boat-cars, so why not boat-scooters?

I don't know... It looks like a rolling stapler to me.
Also, it doesn't look all that comfy to ride. I love my Honda Met, but I think I'll pass on this one.

My biggest concern it the seat seam, I can see me having a matching crease in my "ahem" from that, lol.

The whole point of the Motocompo was that in a lot of cities in Europe and Asia, parking is a huge challenge and often drivers would have to leave their cars one place then walk or take transport for additional (long) distances. The Motocompo was meant to fit into the City car and wasn't intended for use as a full scooter, but to get around those extra miles. It's also something that could conceivably be carried onto trains and such.
Many car companies are now coming out with "city cars," and several have presented concepts with some type of stowable alternative transport so urban commuters could park, then have something to get them the rest of the way. The strangest of these is a Honda unicycle concept from a couple years ago. It folded into the side of the driver door. Others have shown scooters, e-bikes, folding bicycles, etc.
These scooters (and others) also require little power and fuel, so many may use the car for the long haul, then the stowable vehicle for in-city where they'd be consuming a lot more and having to worry about parking, etc.
This may not make sense for most Americans, but elsewhere in the world they may be much more practical and desirable.

It looks like a bench with wheels.

Now THAT's cool. I wonder if it charges up while in the door?
You could park well away from the downtown area (and expensive parking) if you were driving your car, or well away from the shopping mall at Christmas, and still not have to walk a long ways.
Of course, we all could use more exercise these days...

Actually, the "paddle" picture aside, it is kinda cool. I personally wouldn't want one, but just imagine all the stuff you can carry on it...and riding 2 up shouldn't be an issue!

In the past 20 years I've parked my car downtown a total of about 5 times, and that includes the 10 years when I went to school or worked downtown. I either rode my bike, or parked outside of the meter zone and walked. That was the healthiest 10 years I've had since high school. I'm actually hoping that these kinds of devices
don't catch on.

Indeed it does! Just a concept, though. Don't really see that unicycle taking off, but it's interesting. I'd love to see that little EV car come to market, though!

I'm seriously, in my head, trying to design a bike rack for my scooters. Not sure it would work well on a Buddy without a custom rear rack (too much weight hanging off back end), but I think my Stella and Vespa can handle it.

I think you misunderstood what the doctor meant when he suggested that you "take the bicycle to work" for exercise.

You should make the rack for a small unicycle. That would be pretty easy.

You know, this is off-topic, but check out the soles of her shoes. I don't think I've seen any like that. The look pretty grippy.
She has excellent posture, btw.

I"ve seen the original..."Rumor" in the motorcycle community is that about 200 of them came into california by mistake in accords in 1981? instead of spare tires!...
Cool concept...but yeah, not very pretty :/

It is definitely kind of ugly, but it's also kind of cool. If the handlebars really do fold down, I could easily fit it inside my wagon!

Why don't they just bring back the Monkey Bike?

I wish they would because the vintage one's are selling for prices I can't afford. At least I was able to buy one like this before the prices went crazy:
Not mine, but mine's exactly the same.

They want something collapsible, light and rechargeable that can be lifted out of and into a trunk.

How are the wheels attached to the frame? Is the rear and front fork offset so it only attaches to one side of the wheel?

pretty interesting...the motor being in the front wheel would be weird, but I wonder what the range is and how much it weighs?
That seat can't be too comfy, but I like the concept.

1. Invert unit
2. Thread film around wheels
Voila - mobile I-max projector with separate RGB output.

That picture makes me want to be a futuristic, single unit, personal transport device.
