Got Progressive insurance? I have a Q for ya.

Just curious…
For those who have Progressive on a Genuine scoot, who got it via their dealer?

I imagine a few folks maybe cooperated with their dealer during that cover & lock incentive. I have Progressive (substantially cheaper than the Gecko for the same coverage), but bought online.

I have it, but not through the dealer. I have USAA for all my other insurance, but they outsource their motorcycle insurance to Progressive, but it includes a decent discount.
The Buddy is $74 per year for me for minimum coverage -- liability only, with no uninsured motorist, theft, comprehensive, etc...
Edit: just went and read over my policy, $74 included uninsured coverage. Without that, my premium is only
$23 per year. Jesus, that's cheap.

I have Progressive too, also not through the dealer.
The bf and I rolled our bikes into one policy for the discounts... and it cost less for me to be added to his than for me to start a new policy ($89 vs. $224).
My car insurance is also through Progressive, but through a 3rd party business locally... when it is up in June next year I plan on switching it to straight up Progressive, that way I'm not paying for some third party nonsense that does nothing for me.

I have it, but I got it independently. My dealer didn't make any insurance recommendations. I called around for the best rate for what I wanted and then secured it that way.

I have it through USAA also.

I have USAA for everything, but since they don't do motorcycles anymore they transferred my call to Progressive. With my USAA "discount," Progressive wanted $700/year. I said forget it and called AAA. AAA wanted $500/year. I said forget it and called Geico. Geico wanted $126/year which dropped to $90/year after the first 6 months.
This was all for the same coverage. It pays to shop around.

slightly off topic, I am sorry. I am not insured with progressive.

* my wife's 125 Buddy is $81.88 per year with Liability cov
and "full coverage", ie: comprehensive
and collision coverage.
(Comprehensive includes theft, acts of God, vandalism, anything to do with an animal- things like that.)
* my 4T stella is the same price with same coverages.
we did not add uninsured motorist coverage because in my state, we only have to have it on one vehicle in our household and it magically extends to any other vehicles in our household.
And no Towing coverage because it is not offered on a 2 wheeled vehicle from my company. but since we bought them new we still have the Genuine 2 year tow assistance thingy and I guess once the 2 years is up I may call that same company and see how much it costs to keep it going.
if you want to know what insurance company, you can PM me if you want. I wont say it here because that is not the point I am making.
If you are shopping around I strongly reccommend "bundling" or whatever it's called. we have our car insured 2 scooters, 2 life insuance policies, and "renters insurance" (like homeowners insurance but since we "rent" this covers our stuff from pretty much anything).
anyway the bundle discounts are Crazy! or they should be anyway.
when you are already paying them so much per year -they should encourage you to
not have to leave and go somewhere else.
the problem is, some companies do encourage you to stay- while others practically push to you leave -once you realize how little they thank you for giving them all your buisness (bundling).

I have Progressive but got it through an independent broker. Progressive has been very good to me what with my scoot accident and our camper being totaled by hail.

I have progressive but I got mine through the interwebs since MEEMIC won't cover motorbikes.

We have progressive on our scooter....we just phoned them up cold. For full coverage......$89.00/year.
I tried to switch my house insurance to them, but they will not insure houses in our town. Maybe it is because of the forest fires which sometimes threaten our town?

I also use Progressive. I signed up by myself after checking out prices among the major companies (except for State Farm— because they are evil).

I have Progressive on my scooters, but got it through an independent broker who handles all my other insurance.

I have progressive and we got it through our insurance broker because our home and auto company doesn't cover bikes.

As a courtesy, please refrain from posting how much you pay. Every insurance thread follows the same path, someone starts posting how much they pay without mentioning the 15,000 factors that go into that rate and someone else gets upset and starts crying unfair.
Do insurance smart, if you don't like your rate, shop around and that doesn't mean asking others how much they pay. [/moderator]

I have Progressive but bought it independently. 50cc so it wasn't needed at time of purchase.

I would never get insurance from a dealer... But I pay $50.00 every 6 mouth for my 125 buddy.

I have
the Hartford car insurance for the last 6 years. I got it through a reference from my dealer. I had bought it online.

Never had a dealer offer me anything dealing with insurance, other than a business card.
I'm with Progressive now, after one year of another company upping my rates with absolutely no explanation (I hadn't moved, or submitted any claims, or anything!). Progressive keeps dropping my rate without me doing anything, and so far always seem to be very helpful over the phone.

1. How does me not buying insurance from a dealer gives you a weird images to mind? What because i'm not that lazy.
2. What the hell is a dugger? I'm not up to date with all the kid talk anymore.

I believe LMC was referring to the prolific Dugger family on TLC Network's 18-and-Counting (or is it 19 or 20 now?) when you typo'd "$50.00 every 6 mouth".
As in many-mouths-to-feed.
