This is directly from their Facebook page...

Sportique Scooters Denver
Folks, We need your help. GE Commercial Finance has given us one week to settle a debt with them or they will shut us down and begin recovering our inventory. We must generate sales by any means necessary in order to meet this deadline. If there is a purchase you have been deferring THIS is your chance to save money and help us save our business. We want to be there for you for decades to come. Everything is for sale and every price is negotiable. This is not a test.

Damn, push has come to shove. I really, really, really, hope they can get the cash they need. I'll check my lottery tickets...

I shared on Facebook. Hopefully the scooter community can rally.

Really hoping those of you and others in the area can chip in and do whatever you can to help. The closure of Sportique would be a huge loss for owners, Colorado, Genuine and US scooterdom in general. Even if you just stock up on belts and oil or get that jacket you wanted for Christmas a little early, I'm sure every bit helps.

This drives home how bad our economy remains...a well regarded business like this being in the position it is. I hope any and everyone in Denver thinking about buying and is able to do so. I wish them the best of luck. Any online buying possible?

I think they were taking some phone orders.

I'm not privy to the particulars of this, but I get the feeling it's the kind of thing where a few years ago this wouldn't have been a problem. Credit is tough and credit companies are cracking down.
