Maybe we should just start a thread for holiday gifts.

Raygunsite is one of my favorite places for funny, clever t-shirts that I don't buy because I don't wear many funny, clever t-shirts. They have many I love there and are largely responsible for me having an odd interest in Des Moines, a city I've never visited.

I have seen and love that shirt... but refuse to buy it because I hate the color combination.

Attractive model, does she come with the shirt?

Yup, she does! As appealing as that sounds, do you really want to buy a girl that comes free with t-shirt purchase? Must be something wrong with her if they're willing to let her go so cheap. She looks cute and healthy in the pics, so maybe she's got a horrible personality or is batshit crazy. Also, if you buy the men's shirt you get a dude.
Kind of creepy, though. Prostitution at best but more like slavery, really. Imagine having to explain to family and friends that she doesn't really like you, but that you
bought her. Some may be impressed that you got the girl + shirt package for a mere $19, but there will be a lot of unfavorable whispering behind your back. Think of the hidden costs of service, boarding, another mouth to feed, etc. My guess is that you'd be trying to get rid of her on Craigslist or eBay within a month.

Maybe the young lady is a very strong personality, very Alpha who will take over and tell every one what to do...Such personalitys are always a great opportunity for learning. R

Des Moines definitely punches above its weight for a metro of about 500K. The whole state does, actually. I have kind of a little crush on Iowa. As a state, they are also very friendly to 2-wheel transportation, both meat- and gasoline-powered.

My curiosity started with Raygunsite's "Des Moines: It's French for 'The Moines'" shirt. Had to figure people who appreciated that had my kind of sense of humor. Then the scooter calendar I got this year came from The Corporation SC in DM. I loved that it was girls and scooters but pretty damn tasteful, not cheesecake, and kind of fun. Something I'm not embarrassed to have in my office.
From there it kind of grew. I recently bought a vintage postcard form the early '60s or so featuring a photo of LOOK magazine's subscription HQ in DM. Maybe I should go up for a rally some year!

Only one problem - what do your past girlfriends and your ex-wife all have in common?

They're female...
I just know I'm going to get in trouble for that one...

Let 'em know that. They have a bunch of t-shirts in multiple colors. Maybe they'll do this one in another color.

They have an Iowa City location. I should just have my sister go to the store and ask nicely.
