Hey everyone- This may have come up before, but I can't find it (with the search).
I did find a great oil change with fool proof pictures under the technical library, but when I went outside to look for the drain plug I couldn't find it. Arg. It might just be me- But I'm wondering if the 50cc buddy's vs. the 125 or above are located in the same spot? I would love to change my oil, but feel like I'm searching out the Atlantis.
If someone can point me in the right direction, or tell me to look harder behind the stand, please help.
The gear oil I found with no problem... It was right out there saying "hi! change me!"

No changing, just refilling as you're burning it in your 2-stroke engine.
That fill spot's right next to your fuel fill spot under the saddle. If you haven't done it yet and you've ridden enough to be doing an oil change, you probably will want to buy some 2-stroke pretty darn soon. Search around for folks' opinions on oil brands, but I'll at least say: probably try not to just do 'lawnmower' oil.

Hello...your Buddy 50 has a 2-stroke engine, yes?
2-strokes don't use oil in the crankcase like a 4-stroke engine (125/150/170 cc Buddy); they use oil from the oil reservoir and mix it with the gasoline, so it is consumed as the engine runs...except for the gear oil, there is no oil change to do on your scoot...yaaaaay!

Let's just hope he's been putting oil into the reservoir tank after he fills up with gas.......and I would use MC specific 2 stroke oil. All major MC manufacturers have their own house brands, which they'll have in any of their shops. I've never seen any Genuine specific 2 stroke oil.

phew
Thanks everyone! Yes it's a 2 stroke...
I'm at about 1500 miles, and I've been refilling it- but was worried that there was more than I should be doing. This is my first buddy (or scooter at all) and I feel like a new parent. That makes me pretty happy to hear.
