At this point in time, I'd rather not put a rack on my Blur. Opting to try cargo-net styled bungees. Anyone fiddled around with these types of bungee netting? Is anchoring it tricky? Looks like there's several brands and types, so any specific type/size recommendations for a 220i Blur?
Unsure of usage. Obviously haven't stored anything outside yet. Perhaps helmet storage when parked (with a cable lock running the helmet). Would be great if it was secure enough to ride with a bag of groceries or extra jacket/sweater or something netted down behind me. Not planning anything extra-heavy duty.
Thanks!

Visual reminder of the slope and the back of the seat.
I've done it, irregularly shaped, soft packages are easily strapped to the back of the seat with said nets, simply and carefully hook the net to the underside of the seat. Larger and more rigid packages can likely span the seat and onto the rear grab bar. Careful on weight though on that grab bar. Seats obviously are built to carry a weight load, the grab bar isn't.
Rear racks however, are built to carry a load but that load is limited. In the case of the Buddy, 11kg (24.2lbs) Although I have put more on frequently myself......

Thanks for posting the pics anyway. The Blur is such a good-looking scoot!
Is there a rim around the seat suitable for the bungee hooks to attach? Not the case with my bike but then again, mine has some very convenient grab bars all around the seat.
I would expect a helmet to jostle around quite a bit as you bounce down the road. You might hook it up and take a test ride to see how well it works.
I haven't seen the rack for the Blur but you might consider it a necessary evil.
I always have a bungee net with me on a bike. It makes sure you can carry what you forgot to plan for ..I just use the standard 15"x 15" sold in most bike shops.
We had 4 camp chairs (collapsible type) on the rear rack of a friends 125Buddy last year coming back from a scooter rally. 4 chairs, and a passenger and it worked out fine
Just watch that the little plastic protector tips don't come off the bungee hooks. Then they can scratch if you are not careful.
Speed is only a matter of money...How fast do you want to go?
Bungee-ing stuff to the grab bar of my Buddy wasn't great, but the net worked well for bringing a spare helmet. I found the bungee net worked best for things like groceries and the like when I used the footrest area for a large flat space, bungeed onto that and tucked my feet out of the way.
Doubt that'd even be an option with the Blur.
"Why is it every time I need to get somewhere, we get waylaid by jackassery?"
She swears by her cargo-net. She has hauled some pretty improbable loads on her scooter this way.
It would be nice if they made one with flat metal hooks to fit under the seat better, instead of those thick plastic hooks. Ace Hardware does sell all kinds of replacement hooks for bungee so maybe they have something.
Both Lokky and I have cargo bungees. We also have rear racks, but the cargo bungees are the reason we don't really believe in top cases!
The Stella's rack is roomy, and the Stella is heavy, so he has the luxury of bungee-ing pretty much anything to the darn thing as long as the net will stretch.
I bungee'd a plastic crate to my back rack because the Buddy's rack is so tiny- but it's still basically the same concept: an open-ended carry space over which you can put a regular or cargo net bungee to tie something down.
I can see how doing this without a rack at all would be a lot easier on the Blur, given the shape and angle of the seat. My only advice is DON'T get the kind of net I got. Lokky has a slightly bigger one with only 4 hooks on it- mine has 6 hooks, and while it's potentially more secure, it's a pain to have 6 hooks to deal with. Too many if you ask me. Maybe that's being too picky though... it's just a cargo net
And good point on the 4 x 6 connectors: it's a tradeoff between secured storage and ease. With the Blur, I can imagine it going either way. (Would be nice to get 4 hooks on the bars and only 2 on the seat). I guess it depends how it all fits!
I think I'll take a trip to a hardware store and take a look at bungee ends or protectors, I wouldn't want to tear the seat up. Maybe I'll actually make my own custom netting! Might be worth a few extra dollars to get something with Blur-optimized connections.

My problem with mine specifically, is that there isn't much space between the hooks... just 2-3 inches, so not much stretch room. I think I would have rather had a round net with six hooks going all the way around, OR the same square with two on each edge, rather than the current square with three hooks on two opposite edges and two edges with no hooks at all.
About hooks... since you'll have to worry about the seat cover, I suggest trying to look for one with slim plastic hooks, maybe.... the little rubber tips on my hooks all popped off very easily, and most of them without me noticing, and the edge of the hook is rough. If you get metal hooks, you may want to force the rubber caps off and Gorilla or Krazy glue them back on.

+1 I've done that on occasion, and brought along a cable and ran it through the handle on each saddlebag so I could lock them to my scooter when I went in the store. Sure, a thief could just cut the handles off, but then the saddle bags wouldn't be any good to them either, so what's the chances of that happening?
