This week I had an interesting experience with West Virginia's Dept. of Motor Vehicles.......
I took my new PGO Point of Origin paper (title) in to get my plates. Paid my money, got my plates and a temporary registration card. The next day, they called and stated that they had to give my money back because my Buddy is not legal in WV! I asked why and they said (1) that the title did not state the size of the engine (i.e. 49cc, 125cc, etc) and (2) the title did not state if the scoot met or exceeded Federal vehicle standards.
I called my dealer and they told me to tell the DMV that the plate on my Buddy states that it meets Federal guidelines. I did and the DMV ask me to email them a photo of the scoot and a photo of the plate. Moments later they called me back and told me everything was OK.....they had checked Genuine Scooter's website for the info!
Anyone else have this problem? I'm thinkin' about sending a note to GS telling them about this issue and seeing if they can get PGO to add this info to the titles they send to the US.

Re: PGO Title
I know this issue popped up occasionally when the Buddy debuted and certain states were particularly problematic. This also can cause problems when getting insurance—some companies still don't know what the Buddy is. A lot of it comes to what's written on the title... I'm surprised yours said PGO and not Genuine. There may never have been a PGO registered in WV, but I'm sure Genuines have been.jazdrmr wrote:This week I had an interesting experience with West Virginia's Dept. of Motor Vehicles.......

Good that it all worked out. I've heard of this issue causing owners a lot of problems, especially if they bought out of state.
