Scootershop.com has free shipping for over $50 orders that are UNDER 10 pounds. Two Heidenau k61's are 16 pounds. Can't I just place two orders for a single tire? WTF?

Thats pretty bad. I would order them 1 at a time. Whats just as bad is if I buy an oil filter for 9.95 I have to pay 9.59 in shipping, lol. so I'm waiting to get some more money so I can buy a few of them so the shipping isn't killing me.

My curiosity got to me, so I checked what Priority mail from Chicago to me would cost. 5.20, I wonder where the other 4 dollars are going?

Skootz, they are out of 100/90-10's last I checked. Heidenau doesnt seem to have a good distr. here. Money to be made there I would say. :)

Happy New year to you BTW. Hope the St Tropez is running good. Mine is running like a top at 3000 miles. 8)

Just call them and ask what the difference is and if they'd give you the deal for two rather than you ordering separately.

Heidenau is distributed in the US by Moto Amore. They have small distribution here but they're still not a well-known brand and growth has been largely word of mouth. Still, I haven't heard of complaints about lack of availability. If one place is out of them, that may be due to under-ordering.

I've got 12K on my rear K61 and more miles to go on it. It's also the best performing tire I've ridden on. If I had to pay an extra few bucks to get the one I need, I wouldn't sweat it too much.

In days gone by it used to be called shipping AND PACKAGING. The extra $4 is probably for the box.
