Creative parking

Well, I have learned that there is always a down side with working a job around the wealthy and elite. Our venue is in North Scottsdale, which is pretty much the posh area of the Phoenix/Metro area. Granted we get more than our fair share of "boring" classical and classic Jazz performances and not enough live theater, but our ticket prices and content tend to attract those who think they're a bit higher class than they truly are. One of those downsides is the assumption that scooters and non-Harley motorcycles are considered "Low-class" and are discouraged from parking in view of the patrons by producers. Of course, my boss and the rest of the actual staff think it's bullshit, but when the producer leases the venue, it's their show.

So, that means I have to find "creative" spaces to park. Thankfully being the TD, I get a bit more liberty. But, that does mean working around the bike a bit...

Anyone else having a hard time sticking the scoot somewhere during the daily grind?

I have no problem parking the scooter as a commuter, but your photo reminds me of my scooter in "winter storage" in my apartment.

TD=Technical Director. I am in charge of making the lighting, sound and physical elements of a show work. For each production there's:

-Producer: They get the money for artists to put on a show, find the venue, and ensure the artists get the most money in pocket while making sure there's enough to pay for the production and to make sure the legal interests of the artists are taken care of

-Executive director: My boss. The one who runs the venue and all operations in it. They have to be good at everything in order to make sure it all works together well.

-Administrative director: The one the Producer speaks to in order to book shows. They do all the paperwork (i.e. "boring") stuff like insurance, ticketing agreements, setting up publicity and arranging the show to be managed by us

And there's my job. Which, sadly, is an "unseen" job by 99% of the rest of the world. But, without it nothing happens. Kind of stressful but a hell of alot better than everyone else's job:P

Just think. If you had a Stella instead, you could park it in the living room and call it art.

Used to work freelance for a company in slc called PPT. didn't do much lighting but sound and setup for the convention buisness. People don't know you exist unless something is not working. I think theater would be neat.

I think your rat is at least safe. So long as coworkers don't sit on it and make vroom vroom sound.

I really didn't mean to sound as if complaining. I'm thankful I've GOT a job now.

Good thing about the scoot is that it's small and light enough that rolling it indoors is practical. Not the kind of thing one can do with one's Goldwing.

I would've guessed "top dog"...
