Corazzo riding jackets

Anybody have a Corazzo riding jacket? If you do how do you like it? Is it vented enough for hot weather riding? I have been looking at some different jackets for my wife and that is the one she likes the best, but we live in South Texas so it gets pretty hot here, that is why I am looking for some feedback.

Thanks for any info.

A lot of people love their Corazzo jackets and riders have reported that they hold up and offer very good protection in crashes. I'm planning on buying the Max jacket soon. For South Texas you may want to wait and see when their mesh Speedway will be available. Production on these has been delayed for much of the summer—unfortunate because a lot of riders like myself have been eagerly awaiting their release.

You'll most likely NOT find a perfect 1 jacket fits all situations as I tried.

Sacramento get's about as hot as hell can get with a minor amount of humidity due to being surrounded by 2 rivers...nothing compared to ya'll!

Corazzo is WELL known, liked and used in the scooter community.

I like the look of them, but can't afford them.

Check out www.notnewenough.com or www.motorcyclecloseouts.

I have a decent jacket, nylon with vents and removable inner linear but it's still sucked wearing it in 90+ degree heat.

Look for something you can afford to wear now and save up for a more rain/winter type jacket later.

Not to bad in the heat

I bought the Corazzo 5.0 a few months ago and love it

It definitely is a well constructed jacket which feels like it will offer good protection in fall.

Concerning the heat, MN is not the coolest place in the summer especially this summer. In the 80's, there is no issue. When the temps get into the 90's, it is fine when in motion. If I have to stop and get gas for a few minutes, then I can tell I am starting to sweat. Also, I am doing mostly country riding which means not a lot of city stop and goes. If I had to drive in a city with a lot of stop lights and the temp was in the 90's and/or high humidity, I might consider a different jacket. But again, it depends if sweating is an issue for you. The only time it gets hot is when I am driving home after work, and I could care less if I sweat some then. If I had to drive to work in the hot afternoon, again I might consider a different jacket.

I paid around $225 which was only about $75 more than a mess jacket I bought my wife. While my jacket might be a little hotter, that is a small price to pay.

My new Max just arrived today. It's going to be in the hi-80's this week here, so I'll give it a try and let you know. It has huge pit zips and vented pockets, so it seems like the air will flow well through the jacket. We'll see. As far as the look -- awesome. I ordered directly from Corazzo, so I have not compared the Max to the 5.0 or Shop jacket, but I believe it's lighter weight then both of those styles -- maybe the same as the Shop jacket. I hope it works in the heat, and then layer under it when it turns cold.

Mike, on the Corazzo 5.0 that you bought...what are your thoughts for using to ride later this fall when the temp starts to drop?

I asked at Corazzo and he said to wear something under it--long sleeve shirt/turtleneck.

I'm hoping it will be warm enough...I like it because it is not so bulky.

I think the 5.0 will work in the fall, and I plan to wear it then. While not bulky, the material of the 5.0 is nice and thick. Like the company rep said, I think a warm long sleeve shirt or fleece, a good set of gloves, and all the zippers zipped up should work for the fall.

I definitely do not plan to buy a second jacket for the fall. I prefer the layered approach, and my 5.0 is roomy enough to allow me to add a layer or two below it. Also the fact that mine is a little large gives me more ventilation on the hot days.

Yes, I agree the 5.0 has a tight weave.

Thanks for commenting on the 5.0 now I know I made the right choice.
I prefer layered too.

Thanks much

I just did a 20 mile ride through a wooded park, and then through a dense city with all the lights that come with it. I wore a tee, jeans, high boots, a half helmet with full face visor, and my Corazzo Max. It's 85 degrees and sunny and I was very comfortable. The humidity is quite high today at 72%, with showers skirting the area. I barley broke a sweat at all.

With long sleeves and a Carhart thermal under the Max during winter, you could probably be comfortable on short rides in 20 degrees. Just make sure if your shoulders are wide (44-46) that you get the XXL. My buddy in Cleveland -- who is built like an NFL quarterback, usually wears an XL or even a LT if he wants a snug fit, and said that this jacket ran very small on him in the shoulders and arms, and since he wants to layer in the winter, he bought the XXL. He's only had his a few days, and he thinks it's great. The XL worked for me, but I, regrettably have more at my waist then in my shoulders :(

I just want to start by saying thanks for all the support and conversation about our products.

Being that we are based in the NW, we designed all our jackets as 3 season jackets. We rarely get too cold to ride (although we do get wet) and we rarely have more than 13 days a summer over 95. (today is day 7) (Its going ot be 73 and raining this weekend)

Each Jacket style has 2 things in mind Style and Function.

The Max is certianly more water resistant and modern looking, the 5.0 is more vintage touring with the highest grade of abrasion resistance on the market. The Bomber is the warmest with the quilted linner but not as water resistant. And the Shop is just plain comfortable in the all around nice days.

With a Poly/ thermal/ sweater under the Hoody/ Max or 5.0. I would be fine down to about 35-40 for short comuter trips or around town. With good gloves and a full face helmet its great for as brave as you wanna be getin in the cold.

For the warm weather, no one wants to put on their jacket no mater what they have, it's just plain hot even in the shade. We Have had a mesh Jacket in the works for some time now (2 years) and we know there isn't time frame on perfection, but when we release a product we want it to be as good as we can. We stake our reputation on it.
With the venting in the Max and 5.0 the upper temp range is like Val said 85-90 while riding.

So, I apologise to all those out there who in waiting for Our Speedway, had to go get a summer jacket from some one else. It's no ones fault but our own.

In all our searches we have found there is still no such thing as the one perfect jacket, we are still working on it, thanks for choosing ours

If anyone has questions or comments please call me
again thanks for your support, we love it

Chad, thanks for the detailed info.

The Speedway is going to be a mesh jacket?
Will there be colors available like pink?

I kinda like having a couple of jackets. I noticed today my mesh jacket needs to washed especially where the white is, but I don't think it will dry by tomorrow so nice to have a jacket I can wear while the other one dries.

Now, the Corazzo 5.0 is that machine washable and drip dry or what is the care. (For those of us who don't open another window to check the actual corazzo website)

Waiting for 5.0 bubblegum pink to arrive.

Chad,
I have a question about a Corrazo jacket that I saw in the Vespa Seattle store. I went in there last weekend and saw a really nice red and black mens (at least I think it was mens) hoody that they had on sale. I didn't grab it then because I wanted to look at some of the information online and when I looked I noticed that you don't list it on your website. Do you have any more information on the jacket? I'm pretty sure it was a corazzo and it was labelled a mens hoody.

The Men's Hoody has been discontinued, and replaced with the Max jacket, thats why you saw it on sale. The Women's Hoody is still avail. I coppied the info from the website and pasted it below.

Named in honor of one of our favorite employees, the Max is the best selling hoody, without a hood. A very sporty mandarin collar manages to carry off the neat trick of being both super comfy and super good looking at the same time. Naturally enough it fast becomes a rider’s favorite jacket. Constructed of a waterproof four-way stretch nylon fabric called PacTech®, it has superior breathability, and a soft fleece lining that is very comfortable.

FEATURES
• Highly water resistant 4-way stretch Softshell Fabric
• Removable CE Rated Knox® Armor in shoulders & elbows
• Hidden 500 denier Cordura® overlays in the arms & shoulders
• Reflective 3M Scotchlite™ piping for 360° degree nighttime visibility
• Superior venting for warm days with zippers in the arm pits
• Two-inch longer tail & arms designed for upright riding
• YKK® high-grade zippers throughout

the following links are for the women's Hoody and the Max, The are made of the same material and almost the same contruction. Take a look and if you have any questions call

Hey Ryder 1

The Speedway w/mesh, will be made of Cordura 1000, like the 5.0. With mesh pannels in the front, back and sides. Tastefully done to incorporate the mesh into the design elements with the reflective striping as well.

The colors are yet to be determined, but I believe the women's will come in a pink with some other color stripe ( white or black or grey). the men's will be most likely blue grey and green or something, Bradford has yet to tell us for suprise reasons. Think 3-5 weeks or so

The 5.0 is machine washable. delicate, in cold with liquid detergent recomended. You should hang or lay flat to dry. And please remove the Armor before wahing. They can cause issues with the armor placement pouches. Even though the material will not shrink, the tumbling may cause some issues with the stitching, velcro and reflective striping, just undue stress in the construction

I hope this helps and thanks for the questions, they are good for everyone.

Can the 5.0 be put in the dryer on Air Dry or No Heat?

I understand you mentioned the tumbling but just wanted to double check.

A mesh jacket would be a god send here in Tucson. I've been tooling around Tucson in my 5.0 awaiting the arrival of the speedway. At 50, the vents work on the 5.0, but I usually don't get to go that fast, so I sweat. I used to ride my bike to work, so it doesn't bother me much, but I worry about the people that sit next to me. It has been over 100 degrees here for the past 3 months.

I love the 5.0, I've got the red with white strips, and looked at mesh jackets this summer. Most have that “angry” biker look I really don't care for, so I'm holding out for the Speedway. Hopefully it will come soon.

BTW, can we get a sneak preview??

Thanks!! Kes.

I love my hoody for 3 seasons. But bought a mesh jacket for the summer. It's so nice to feel the wind on your skin. =)

I just aquired a Corazzo Shop Jacket. It was the prize for being the "Longest Ridden" at the Hill on Wheels II Scooter Rally. Thank you for being a sponsor Corazzo!!!! This will be a perfect winter jacket for South Florida! I have heard alot of good things about Corazzo jackets but I had never seen one in person as we dont have a dealer here. This is something I can wear to the office or on the road!

Thanks too for the sweet Corazzo t-shirt (wearing it right now!) and of course for the blue Corazzo condom! (not wearing that right now!)

Well, I was all ready to buy myself a Corazzo Max when I picked the scoot up from spending a few weeks at the dealer waiting on a part. But, well... I found a scarcely used one on eBay for $90 and couldn't resist.
But I'll happily buy a mesh for use next summer. And to make up for giving my money to a fellow scooterist instead of supporting one of the few companies making gear for us, I will loudly sing the praises of the jacket at every opportunity. And for my dealer: Shop at NoHo Scooters! They rule!

Either way, I've wanted a Max or Hoody for some time now and am stoked about getting one. I'll post my impressions of the jacket once it arrives. We're due for some weird weather: 60s in the mornings, high 80s in afternoons. It'll give me a chance to try it out in different conditions. And if I ride to Santa Barbara for the Endless Summer rally in a couple weeks, I'll wear it then, too.

I just got my new Corazzo Max jacket yesterday and am loving it so far. Wore it out riding durring the hottest part of the day (90's) and the vents kept it confortable while in motion, waiting at lights got a bit warm though. In the evening however after it had cooled down a bit the jacket was perfection. Comfortable temperature wise and feel wise. The material is not as stiff as the 5.0 so it feels like it moves with your body insted of against it. I ordered mine direct from Corazzo and Chad was awsome to deal with. If your local dealer is not planning on ordering any new Maxs (like mine was :x ) buy them direct from the company. Great jacket and great outfit to buy from.

In love with my 5.0

I love my 5.0. I've answered many questions about it across the country.
Their company is great, its nice to buy something made by scooterists and not have to shop the motorcycle circuit.

The reflective design goes a long way. I feel very visible and safety is a huge factor for me, especially since I ride a black bike.

Chelsea over at Scoot Richmond was nice enough to give me her Corazzo Hoody before I left town. I did some test rides with it in the Southern Heat and found it too hot. Felt like dying! Ordered the 5.0 RIGHT before I left and have been really happy with it.

Like someone said, when it's hot and you will sweat in city traffic and when stopping for gas. As a Southern Girl, I like heat and sweat. Past 95 deg, I was fully sweating. It's been washed once on the trip, easily, I prefer to line dry it. That soon to come Speedway mesh would have served me well through the South and the Plains. But riding at high speeds, I felt fully protected with the 5.0 For the touring I am doing, there is only room for one jacket and this one is multi-purpose. In a hard rain, I do put my rain jacket over it. But if you want something breathable, you will loose some of the waterproof factor. It's water resistant.
It's been worn through temperatures ranging from 55-103. Roll up the fleece sleeves, roll down the collar and your good. Layer up for cooler temps. I have found its design comfortably accommodates layering.
I wear a small and can still fit a thermal long sleeve, t shirt and sweatshirt without restricting my arms.

If you haven't been able to tell, I heart my 5.0

How to buy direct?

So I'm really interested in the 5.0 however there is no dealers in Houston according to Corazzo's Website. I asked my local scooter shop about them and he does not know of anyone here locally either. I sent a message to Corazzo on Tuesday, but i've not hear anything back. Does anyone know how to buy directly from them?

THANKS!!!

Sorry, inside joke with my inlaws! Being there are now 2 Caucasians in the extended Mexican-American family. We are constantly called each others names at events. The truly funny thing is we are almost never at the same event! So I'll get "Hey Chad" and he gets "Hey Todd" all the time!!!
