well after having to beg for my soul back after watching the kardasian part, I liked seeing the Buddies aka "Vespa's". At least they did not call them mopeds like the other clip posted not long ago. nice gear.

Yeah. I'll take Vespa over moped any day.

Forgive me, but I still hope everyone in that video clip is eaten by ants.

I'm curious about this movie. It looks like some goofy tween-friendly beach romp, but it's a Harmony Korine movie, which would suggest otherwise.

From reviews of his last feature, Trash Humpers:
…four performers (including himself and his wife) don maggoty, wizened old-people masks and roam around deserted alleys and car parks in a southern American town. There, just as the title of the film promises, they hump trash cans. Pavements, fences and trees too. Sometimes they even simulate fellatio with tree branches.
Photocopying one's naked ass is easy enough; the trick is getting other people to anoint the result as art. That's more or less what the reliably tedious provocateur Harmony Korine (Gummo, Julien Donkey-Boy) pulled off when this interminable piece of crap copped a big prize at the 2009 Copenhagen International Documentary Film Festival. It's a must-see for anyone who relishes lo-fi video footage of creeps in dime-store Halloween masks shtupping garbage cans, fellating trees, smashing TVs, dragging plastic baby dolls behind bicycles, doing herky-jerky dances, making high-pitched shrieking noises, and abusing musical instruments.
As close to unwatchable as cinema gets…
On Mister Lonely, which he wrote and directed:
Fails to achieve any kind of cumulative meaning outside of Korine's private amusement.
And Gummo, which he also wrote & directed:
... mostly it just seemed mean, ruthless and designed simply to shock the sensibilities of the squares.
And Julien Donkey-Boy, another he wrote & directed:
Julien Donkey-Boy really is an excuse to let Korine go nuts with his jerky video camera as he stitches together a series of completely unrelated and utterly vapid sequences.
And Kids, which he wrote:
Kids, a disturbingly voyeuristic look at adolescent promiscuity, is virtually child pornography disguised as a cautionary documentary.
Pedophilia, pedophilia, pedophilia.

Well then. You have an interesting point. I already plan on seeing this just because it has Buddys in it. But probably at the $2.00 theater in case it sucks.

I used to be hella annoyed when somebody call our Buddy/Stella a Vespa... but I've gotten over it. Saying Vespa for scooter-uneducated people is just brand recognition, like calling adhesive bandages Band-aids. I'm a little prouder of the general population that actually knows that Vespa exists, rather than the portion that is content to inaccurately call everything with two wheels that's not a motorcycle a moped (although, admittedly, I don't blame them I think legislatures having only motorcycle and moped designations carries a lot of the blame). Also, let's get real, to people who don't ride scooters the Stella looks like an old Vespa, so I can't blame 'em much there.

Here's the blurb on IMDB:
Brit, Candy, Cotty, and Faith have been best friends since grade school. They live together in a boring college dorm and are hungry for adventure. All they have to do is save enough money for spring break to get their shot at having some real fun. A serendipitous encounter with rapper "Alien" promises to provide the girls with all the thrill and excitement they could hope for. With the encouragement of their new friend, it soon becomes unclear how far the girls are willing to go to experience a spring break they will never forget.
James Franco is the rapper. My guess is that the writer is taking a stab at doing something a little more "mainstream" (read: "profitable") and the actors are taking a stab at doing something a little more "edgy" (read: "grown up"), and meeting in the middle with an R-rated parody of sugar-coated spring-break films.

Clearly they've neglected to wear their polka-DOT bikinis.

Well I liked the movie "KIDS". I ABSOLUTELY disagree with the "pedophilia" tag. Kids hump each other. It was part of the story. That said, I havent seen any of his other movies, and reading the quotes, I probably wont.

While "Kids" was.. a movie. I was just sitting there like "omg, when is this going to end" during the entire thing. I feel like it should be shown in high school health classes... then maybe we would at least have less skanky young celebrities

Yeah, Kids definitely had merit as a cautionary tale. But yeah, I'm not in a hurry to see this writer's other films either.

Spring Breakers opens today, and it's getting surprisingly good reviews as social satire.

Better see a "No Buddy's were harmed in the making of this film" in the credits.

I was at the premiere of this film at SXSW in Austin. The local Genuine dealer had some girls circling the block on buddies during the red carpet. My brother and I interviewed the cast and director you can see those at the link below

The movie is pretty out there but def entertaining.

The Buddy's were bought at the same place I bought my Stella, the guy had a pic with the girls. Gag

I saw Vanessa Hudgens on Jay Leno(I think) with the amazing Chris O'Dowd, she was a twit! Every time he would say something she would shake her head like a bobble doll and giggle. So much second hand embarrassment.
