Scoot Richmond makes the news! :)

Post by LunaP »

Just got on the good ol' book of faces to find out that my awesome little scooter shop, Scoot Richmond, made news today.

It was the shop's 10th's anniversary today, and a local channel did a piece starring our own wonderful Scooterwoman Extraordinaire.

I have to say, as shitty as a situation as I ended up landing in, I still love my shop and all the great people I have met since getting drawn into the great world of scooters and I was pretty proud to see us getting rep on air.

Here's the page with the video and article!

Happy 10th Birthday Scoot Richmond!

(BONUS: lots of nice scooter shots, and the reporter riding an orange Buddy around XDD)

I fully support this awesomeness. Congrats to Chelsea and her band of misfits. Scoot Richmond is a truly wonderful shop and her enthusiasm for all things scooter is completely contagious.

If you are able, a visit to Scoot Richmond is well-worth the time. Inviting, clean, warm, and attractive, well laid-out in a beautiful old brick industrial building around three sides of an open court, a treat for the eye and senses.

The shop hums, staff are all up, enthusiastic. It has a cachet and ambience of fun, coolness, and humming mechanical qualities in equal parts. Motorheads and strict Stylistas feel equally at home. Good coffee and grub are just down the block a bit.

The business model is professional but personal, human, sincere, and clearly of good faith. It is authentic, ah, Genuine, if you will. There is no hint of the larcenous sophistry and false smiles of the standard moto dealership, no sharp practices. There is no grim manipulative hassling or sense that you are being mined for your spare change.

It's a damned fine place, a locus of civility in a pretty crass world, and I ride two hours just to look in, kick tires, shoot the breeze, and hang out. Yaz oughta go, see?

Excellent news about a successful business... never mind the scooters 8)
And WOW, a TV news person who can actually ride and not dump it. Props to that guy... and to Chelsea and the crew!
