Can't you move your insurance with you?

My insurance doesn't cover me if I have an accident. I'm shopping for a better option.

I have Progressive, but when it comes to insurance, your mileage may really vary. I'd suggest shopping around because there's such a wide variation in cost depending on who you are (male, female, young, old, clean record, not so clean, etc...). It also will possibly be quite different depending on which city you land in, since you're looking at two different states with Portland and Vancouver.

AAA was incredibly cheaper than progressive here in Michigan. The rub? You have to insure a car to be able to insure a bike.
But like previous poster said, mileage is going to vary by so many factors.

From the research I've done, there isn't a company in WA that offers PIP for motorcycles/scooters. So if you need medical, it's all on you. Your health insurance policy is the only insurance you can get for that. If someone knows otherwise, I'd love to hear it.
Also, although WA state law requires you to carry insurance if you drive a car, there is no insurance requirement for motorcycles/scooters (though insurance is still a good idea, says I)

I gotta say I don't think I've actually carried medical/PIP (I'm cheap and have decent medical from my work, or at least think I do), but it's been an option on all of my policies (4 different insurers in WA state over the last 10+ years).
Looking at my Progressive site now, I have the option of adding it for a few bucks a month...
Currently with Progressive4USAA, but esurance, State Farm, BikeLine/Markel were all decent to me. Everyone's situation is different, so you just gotta call/fill forms on the websites. Where you end up matters, WA and OR have different laws regarding insurance.
Also, while it's true that insurance isn't required in WA, you are still financially liable for accident's/damage caused.
