I stalled on the way to work today. It sputtered for awhile then died. I lifted up the seat and took off the gas cap to hear a "woosh". That leads me to believe the cap isnt vented. Afterwards I started it up fine after two tries, although the starter sounded a little weak, so Ill put the battery on the charger tonight at home. Where can I get a vented gas cap?? Oh, BTW, it backfired once before dying. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Just had the same issue, including backfire. Drilled the cap myself (there's a hot-to post on here I found with the search tool) and the issue went away. Interesting that my Black Jack is about two years old and it never happened before.

That makes me feel better that yours backfired too. Thanks I feel a bit more at ease now.

I stalled again on the way home in heavy traffic.

Im my haste to start it back up quickly I pressed the horn instead, scaring the be-jesus out of everyone Im sure.Gotta love those stebels. I was near home so I was able to limp back. Gas cap now DRILLED. The battery was lower that usual so Im charging. I really hope this solves the problem cause stalling in traffic sucks!

If the gas cap doesn't fix it ( it should), have your charging system checked to make sure its working okay if the battery is getting low. But, then again it could jut be a battery going south.

Battery took less than an hour to fully charge, so its cool. Fingers crossed here.
