New Buddy owner in San Diego looking for scoot routes!

I get it now. I totally get. I understand all the hysteria about scooting now.

I bought a Buddy 125 Series Italia yesterday, and I love it. (I bought it for an absurdly low price at Motorsport Scooters in San Diego. Big sale this weekend.)

San Diego is great for scooting because of the weather, obviously. But what's not so great are the big, mean, fast roads and drivers. I'm trying to find some nice scoot routes that are relatively quite and safe but also scenic. But I'm not finding much on the Web. What I have found are popular bicycle routes, but that doesn't always work for scooters.

Can anyone in this area suggest good scoot routes? Thanks!

Welcome! I think I saw you yesterday buying that cool scoot. I was there with the Mrs. buying a few things for my Buddy AND checking out the new scoots.

You may want to hook up with the Pharoahs every Tuesday night.

Unfortunately, I have to teach a class on Tues. nights at the gym and I live way out here in the "Hot Box". Unfortunately, there are no other Buddy owners here in the East County.

Personally, I love to ride old highway 80. I haven't had the time to make it all the way up to Alpine yet. Once my Buddy gets it's 2K mile service and when it's a little cooler, I'm riding up there. Nice country ride with stops available. Also, it is possible to get to Julian. Old highway 101 along the coast is very scenic too.

Another suggestion, pose this same question in www.modernvespa.com also. There are more San Diegans there.
