I'd start by looking at the wiring, and the killswitch. There have been reports of sticky killswitches, but it sounds like you have the opposite. Maybe hardwire the cables to the switch (bypassing the switch itself) and if it keeps running, you know the switch is bad

I've heard several mechanics say that new Buddys sometimes have junk in the gas tank which ends up in the fuel tap and carb. Are you doing anything special to restart it, or does it just start right back up with the electric start?

Specifically when is it dieing? When you come to a stop, while accelerating, randomly, or right after you start it?

My Vino has had some problems but 95% of it was due to there not being enough engine coolant. It will still rarely die at a light now which I think is due to the idle being set too low.

Another possibility for you is bad/old gas if it's been sitting around for a while on its first tank of gas.

Mine has had similar problems over the past year, but a good carburetor cleaning fixed it every time. I DID, however, have to raise the float level to make everything work right.
