Modern Buddy

I bought my Buddy in 2008 as a present to myself (or at least that's how I justified it )

I just had the carb serviced and something with my ignition at a local shop. I'm going to take it back tomorrow when they open but my wondering mind led me to ask here if anyone else has had a similar problem.

When I take off, it is rather sluggish and then tops out at about 30 MPH. It was idling pretty rough so I thought to adjust the idle on the carb but that didn't seem to help the top end. Any ideas what could be causing this?

Is this a 50cc, 125 or 150?
How many miles and what other services have been done?
What carb service was done?
What do you mean by "something with my ignition?

You'll get great advice here but folks will need to know some of that stuff.
