Modern Buddy

I put one 50cc Scooter back into service after long hibernation and did the same prep for the second one. New plug, battery, cleaned tank, flush lines,
check vacuum valve, good compression. The problem can't keep it running.
Put in Seafoam will start after many kicks and can keep running if keep giving it a small rev. I have set the idle screw 2 turns out from closer. The air/fuel screw is appox. 1 1/2- 1/3/4 turns out from closer and slight adjusting to try and keep running. The seafoam seems to be helping I think from yesterday but do not have carb experience. What is usual factory settings for 50cc scoots? any advice or suggestions really appreciated. After putting all the time and effort into getting these 2 back into service prefer not to go the shop route unless last resort. Thanks.

Pilot jet is clogged!

Pull carb flip it over and clear the pilot (small jet)

Thanks Vinney. I was thinking that would be next, but was hoping the Seafoam would be able to work it's way with the pilot jet. I never did a jet cleaning guess time to try. Will try on flipping over leaving throttle cable, choke attached. Remove bowl and small jet and using a guitar string .009. Do you think can leave large jet alone since no problem revving up?
Also what screw settings do you recommend as long as i get everything
back in place? Also any fine tuning procedures do you use for the carb.
so many 1/4 turns in clock or counter clockwise for the air/fuel screw etc.
Also which way is for lean or rich on both screws? I have heard that with a
2T you may want to be on the slight rich side to decrease the chance of engine damage from too little lubrication.

I had thought if the small jet was clogged scooter would not start? I found I could get it to start after many kicks and keeping the throttle slightly open.
So my question is, is the scooter starting by using the larger jet in this case?
