buddy 170 stock or 125 w/ $500 worth of bling?
I'm 6' 200lbs and in the market to buy my first scooter. I'm thinking either a buddy 170 (silver) stock or a buddy 125 with $500 worth of bling. What would you do? I do not intend to ride on the interstate but I do live in an area with 45/50 mph streets.
If you think I should go with the 125 with bling what bling is must have?[/list]

On the other side of the coin, the 125 is a nice scooter too.
I have my older one up to 62 mph (70-72 indicated) several times a week.
I'm waiting for my newer one to get broken in before I do that...and get my windshield.

Yeah it was a throttle sensor problem. It needed to be reset. Mike at Noho fixed it in litarally like 40 seconds (at no charge). It cost me more to get it down there than anything since I live 'bout an hour and a half away. I just don't trust any of the shops around my local hood to touch or even breathe on "My Precious"
damn LOTR....

Also doesn't matter if it's carbed or EFI- it should be winterized if it's going to be stored for an extended period of time (>2 weeks-ish). Carbs, jets, and all the other bits and bobs get gummed up with fuel gunk pretty easily if they aren't winterized properly before storage, which leads to a bunch of work cleaning it all up come spring time! (You can see that in the last few months lots of people have posted "Tried to start the scooter up for spring- it's not running, what do I do?" threads.)jonlink wrote:I think you mean kick startun_designer wrote:170i![]()
also don't forget to winterize it if you don't ride year-round. The 170i doesn't have a kickstand.
As for the battery, well, batteries is batteries. They go dead after a while if they aren't on a tender. Even if you have a kickstart and can run your scoot with a dead battery it's not the greatest idea ever; but the 170i won't run at all without a charged battery, so there's that.
