Tube to nowhere...help

This may be an idiotic question, but id rather find out than risk messing up my buddy.I went to change my oil filter and noticed a little rubber black tube hanging down that I didnt notice last time. Its hollow, and about half a cm in diameter. I cant tell where the other end connects without taking panels off but the free dangling end is hangingdown under the stand, between crankcase and the oil filter. Does anyone else have this, any idea what it is and if it should be attached to something? There doesnt seem to be any fluid coming out, but I also dont know how long it has been like that if its not supposed to be. My engine has been running a little rough and loud lately, but I just figured it was because it needed new oil ( nothing wrong with muffler as far
as I can tell) any thoughts guys, much appreciated.[/list]
