How can I display a paper parking tag on my Buddy?

Post by dmsulli »

My apartment is letting me park my Buddy in this "half-spot" (a large space between to "real spots" in the outdoor parking lot of my building on one condition: I have to be able to display the paper tag that would ordinarily hang from the rearview mirror inside a vehicle. It's to ward of roaming tow companies. My building manager is just trying to protect me from their normal "tow first, ask questions later" policy. The tag is about 2.5x2.5 inches, paper, and they issue a new tag every month. Does anyone have any advice? What about when I have the cover on the scoot? Thanks guys!

You could always laminate it between clear plexiglass and drill a hole for a security cable to go through, then lock it to your scooter.

Check out this site

They have a variety of permit and receipt holders for motorcycles, scooters, convertibles. Maybe this one for you?

Don't know what to tell you in terms of your cover, unless you put a couple of grommets in it.

Maybe a local business supply store could provide laminate service - they do where I live. Then you could attach with snap-tie. Then cut old tie and replace with updated permit.

+1

At least people up to mischief would have a harder time removing it from your scooter....

you could get one of those plastic sleeved with sticky back and stick it to the cover.. then just slide the new one in and out every month...

A quick cheat I used to do with my Stella back when I worked for a different theater downtown was to take the paper tag and put it behind clear packing tape with print side facing to the tape. Then, I would put a layer of cellophane on the body of the scooter legshield and put the tape/permit over that with only the edges sticking to the scoot. Trim off the excess except for a small bit to tear off. Minimal adhesive on the body, easy to remove and easy to apply. The cellophane underneath kept water from getting in. Hope that gives you an idea or two!

Lokky and I had ours laminated, when I cut it out I left a large border, hole punched the top, and looped a very large rubber band through it. Problem solved.
