Modern Buddy

I have a Psycho 125, I love it. I put in an NCY super transmission, Dr. pulley sliders (10g), kevlar belt. Prima exhaust. Jetted to a 100, and Air box restrictor removed. I top out at 60 mph but there is still more power hiding in there but i don't know how to unleash it. It feels like something is holding it back. Any recommendations?

How many miles are on it? It's a Psycho so I'll assume it's fairly new. You won't get top performance until it is broken in at about 1500 miles. Best to let the mods wait and concentrate on braking it in correctly so you can enjoy those long term performance benefits.

If you doubt Skootz, just ask him how many miles he has on his Buddy.

how did you remove the air box restrictor?

Please do a search for voodoo sliders might be on the light side . Members with mods claim the stock air box is good and no benefit in messing with it with out a bbk. Buddys dont come in untill 1000 to 1500 miles

Those sliders do sound too light. What's the stock slider size on a 125? I'd think you'd want something around 11 or 12g.

Update: Looks like the 125 is 11.5g stock, so 10g is certainly too light.

Yep, you'll love it at 12g sliders. I've tried 11, 12 and 13's plus the stock rollers.
But best to let it break-in properly. You will truly see the performance kick-in around 1500 miles.
I'm at almost 27,000 miles currently....

After these sliders are done, I will try some 11's or 12's.

The air box restristor is easy to remove. Open it up and you'll see it right there. Looks like a funnel.

I love this scoot. Rides great, corners like a sport bike!

Even with the upgraded brake, keep in mind if you have to make an emergency stop at 65+, these little buggers are barely designed for it.

That being said I like to go 65 .

are we talking about "REAL 65mph" or "Scooter 65mph" here? i don't think i can handle going that fast on tiny 10" wheels.

I haven't verified via gps, but it was 75mph indicated. I'd like to think it was pretty close to 65 actual.

It wasn't something that I want to do constantly.

I get up to 70 bmph on my short interstate trips. What is the variance on Buddy's, 10 or 15%?
