I own a Buddy 125 which has been garage stored for about the last two years. I know that after being stored for so long its going to need some work done that I don't think I can handle on my own. I'm from the Youngstown, Ohio area and wondering if anyone knows somewhere close I can take it to get it fixed up. The closest dealer is in Cleveland. Can regular mechanics handle this job?
Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

The oil definitely needs changing. You should also drain the old gas and replace it with fresh gas. Two ounces of Seafoam in the gas would help to clean the system. A new spark plug would also be recommended. None of those things is difficult if you have any mechanical skill at all. A scooter mechanic would have all three done within an hour. If the bike was in good shape when stored that may be all it needs. Good luck.

Take it to a dealer. Pride of Cleveland is a great shop! Sea Foam can only do so much. After this long, this scoot probably needs the carb cleaned and the fuel system checked over. That'll take more than an hour.

If you need to transport it, and have access to a truck, you can rent a motorcycle trailer from UHaul for (I think) < $25 a day. Just have several tie downs ready and a Canyon Dancer for the handlebars. :)
