Can anyone recommend a scooter cover that will fit my Buddy 50cc scooter with a trunk?

The 50 is the same size as the 125, 150 and 170, so it would all be the same.
The large
Formosa Cover will fit, as will a large Dowco scooter cover (available at many online retailers) and the Buddy-specific
Prima from Scooterworks.
All have received positive reviews from various members! I had a Dowco which was great. I now have some eBay cheapie but I don't use it often.

The prima has a zip-out to expand the back for a top box.

It is large and I am sure will accommodate your trunk
The price is GREAT and with free shipping when I combined with another item was a no brainer. My scooter is all tucked in for the night as we speak

Thanks for all the great feedback! I have a few quick questions: What size of Dowco scooter cover is needed to fit the trunk? Medium or Large? And I was looking at the Buddy-specific Prima from Scooterworks--that pouch thing in the back is to accomodate a trunk?

Correct - the 'pouch' is normally under a closed zipper. If you open the zipper, the pouch can deploy and provide extra space for the topcase.

Always get a bigger cover than you think you need. Seems like cover manufacturers don't realize your mirrors stick out and that you lock the handlebars at full lock making most scooter covers sized for your scooter too tight causing one of your mirrors to move when you remove or apply your cover :/
The other thing with scooter covers is the size of the portion that covers your hot exhaust.
Finally, cheaper ones are not watertight so a cheap one may be nothing other than a dust/sun cover vs. something you can leave outside in the rain and expect your scooter to be dry when you come back to it.

The Prima, on the plus side, is properly shaped for standard Buddy mirrors and even for a windshield and racks. On the negative side, it doesn't have a heat-resistant muffler panel, so I only tug it down part way on the right side until it cools off.

covermax makes great covers as well. I've Always have good luck. If you want real high end, if your going to use alot, I would go with a dowco.

That's a surefire way to attract nocturnal creatures to set up home in there and make quite a mess. Things like mice prefer the dark and warmth and you'd be making the perfect shelter.
After having the paint etched and finding birdseed in the air cleaner box of one of the bikes I swore off covers forever. Oh, and they seem to love to gnaw on wires.

Well, if you don't have a garage or a carport, it's either a cover or the elements, esp. in the winter. Knock on wood, but so far no little miceys over the past couple of winters. They'd rather figure out a way to sneak into my house.
The worst thing that's happened is some neighborhood stray cat deciding to 'mark' my front wheel one night. Took my cover and disc lock off, and ... 'ewww.....'.

Unfortunately Formosa covers no longer has scooter covers. They say they do, but they just send you a motorcycle cover instead but they are cheap plastic and do not fit scooters with or without a topcase. Sucks. I really liked their old scooter cover but mine blew away in a wind storm. I've yet to find a similar one.
If you want a cover that will keep your scooter dry in even the most torrential downpours then about the best deal going is this
Nelson-Rigg cover on closeout at MotorcycleGear.com. They are really heavy duty. I have three different sizes here so if you're interested I can confirm for you which one fits the Buddy best.

In the end, it is a vehicle and they were made to bear the elements.
