I just bought an '06 Buddy, and I am reading through the manual. Besides all the great lines like, "Do not put luggage in the temperature," it has some guidelines regarding how much to open the throttle over the first X miles. For instance, up to 150 miles you aren't supposed to go over 1/2 throttle.
How rigid are these guidelines? What are they for?

Re: Manual Throttle guidelines
Well, if you go over 1/2 throttle in the first 150 miles your luggage ends up in the temperature. Which is not good! Also be careful not to "ride on the inflammable surface," which is definitely not good either!Ardeaem wrote:I just bought an '06 Buddy, and I am reading through the manual. AFA breaking in the Buddy goes, the best I've been able to do in 200 miles now is to remember not to keep the throttle steady at a constant speed for too long. And I've not ridden with the throttle WFO very often. (Yet. ) (Not too many times, anyway...)
