Modern Buddy

I am into photography and I would love to be able to carry a small portable studio with me (two large softboxes, stands, a gas generator for a power supply). Does anyone use any sort of trailer attached to the back of your scooter? I was thinking about getting a small yard trailer that normally would be pulled behind a lawn mower. That way, I would have an open top with side rails. Does anyone make open faced cargo trailers that can be attached to a Buddy scooter?

Get a quality bicycle trailer and adapt it. I have seen scooter trailers but never one big enough to carry all that you are asking for.

You need a trailer and, more importantly, a hitch that works with a vehicle that tilts. There are some out there, but, really, not much well-suited to mounting to and pulling with a Buddy (or other plastic-bodied scooters with tubular frames).

One thing you need to consider is that if you are pulling it with a motorized vehicle you will more than likely need to get it liscensed.

Unfortunately I've read the scoot boot is not capable of street speeds and is not street legal

Get a Honda Helix. The guy I bought my CB750 from was a professional photographer and he carried everything in the boot of the Helix. Dead ugly but the lockable storage is outrageous. Probably not what you wanted to hear

If you know someone handy that can fabricate a bracket for a buddy, you could go with the old standby PAV replica trailer
