Is this illegal? If not is it unsafe? What are your thoughts

I was looking around online and I saw this little monocle and mustache sticker that can be applied to a face shield, so I was just wondering what the laws were behind this if any for California, I tried to do some research but couldn't come up with much. What do you think?

Funny. I can't think of any reason why it would be problem enough to be illegal. It's certainly no worse than having bug guts splattered on your face shield. The mustache would block your view of the speedo a bit I'd imagine, but the monocle would make no big difference. That said, personally I wouldn't do it. I like to see the road and potential hazards unobstructed.

I totally would and had a mustache before but my job doesn't allow that : / stupid schools.

Is it something that you can actually see through, from the other side? If so, then great. If not, then I'd think both that it's a bad idea and that it's probably illegal in California. If I recall correctly, it's actually technically illegal to even so much as hang something from your rear view mirror in California because it might impede your view. Of course, the cops don't enforce that unless they just want to be jerks.

You could always try a dry-erase marker to see if you'd even like it. Looks like one of those things where you think it's neat but once it's on your helmet it seems kinda naff...

I could just be window tint material on top. You probably won't even notice it on the inside. No idea if it's legal or not.

OMG! That one of the guy with the sunglasses is hilarious!
I'd almost be afraid to wear it though (the head helmet), for fear of causing an accident.
Regarding ewanavenger's helmet...that's a nice helmet you have!
