Burnt smell

I just recently bought a new scooter and every time I come back from a ride there is a smell like something is burning. It's not strong but it's still there. Since I've never owned a scooter or motorcycle before, is this normal? I would assume it is given how hot vehicles usually get and since cars are usually well covered up by the hood, it's more noticeable on a scooter. Anyway, any help anyone can give would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Brandon

Did you leave a pizza slice in the pet carrier?

Hi Brandon! If you are talking about a somewhat burnt smell coming from the exhaust area you are fine. It's whatever they coat/paint it with. I just got my Buddy in February and I noticed the same thing at first. We all do. But you are okay, it's normal. I freaked out when I thought I lost my dipstick... The manual can be a little cryptic. Turns out the Buddy 50 does not have a dipstick lol. I also finally read lots of old threads... All sorts of good information.

Glad you joined... There are a lot of us newbies here. Have fun discovering how fun scootering is.

New scooter smell! It's perfectly natural and might last a couple months or so. There are various coatings and such that are put on parts that burn off (they're supposed to!) or smell when they get hot.

If you see smoke, that's something else altogether, though.
