tweeting or foursquare on your way to Amerivespa?

Post by ScootLemont »

Anyone tweeting or checking in on foursquare or Instagram while riding (or driving) to Amerivespa?

If you want to share your travels, post up your Twitter, Foursquare and or Instagram name here.
I would like to live vicariously through you!

(I will be coming up, but I am only a couple hours away- I would love to see some check ins from you all as you make your trip (weather you are riding or driving or trailering.... what ever)

Lokky has managed to get himself and Stella2.0 together in time for a trip to Amerivespa, but we're not positive he'll be able to check in with home on the way there, much less with twitter. I'll update here as best I can though... he's leaving in a few hours :helmet:

At about 1:00 PM EST, Lokky checked in with me. He'd made it to Athens, Ohio, which was supposedly a bit west of the WV border and a bit east of his target campground... however, in his crazed packing he managed to leave with basically no raingear and got drenched most of the way. So when he hung up with me he was headed towards the campground and a coin laundry to dry his clothes

Then I got a text around an hour later saying that my TomTom was no longer working and so he thought he passed the campground (I suspect the rain fried my gps, yay :? ) and I haven't heard from him since, so who knows where he is now... hahaha poor guy.

It isn't a proper road trip until something gets wet. :)

Or BROKEN! :P

He called me maybe half an hour ago from Columbus, Ohio where he spent most of his morning with a cracked pipe. Our wizardly mechanic at Scoot Richmond directed him a way to patch it, but since it's in a weird spot (not exactly down the side) the patch isn't flat and it's a little sketchy.

But as he scarfed his Dairy Queen burger it was entirely clear that I was more worried than he was (per usual). The two Columbus genuine dealers don't have his Sito+ pipe, there didn't seem to be any dealer anywhere near his route through Indiana... so he just plans on trusting the patch and trucking it either until it fails and towing or until he gets to where he's headed... either way, his ultimate goal atm is Scooterworks Chicago. Hopefully he at least makes it to Fort Wayne to camp for the night...

EDIT to add... the patch started working not so well (called it  ) so I called a few more out-of-the-way dealers, who did not answer their phone, (gj guys), and in the end he just had it welded, quite fast too. So back on the road he is... nothing can stop the Italian Stallion!

Great story there, illnoise, hope that it doesn't come true 8)

I'm kicking the tires and lighting the fires and will be soon on the way. I don't know how much tweeting I'll be doing, but watch for it with #Amerivespa.

Happy to report that Lokky checked in with me last on his way out of Chicago... I suspect he forewent the Scooterworks option in favor of attempting to find some more free welding at the Rally  BUT he should be nice and comfy in his hotel room with our friend from NC by now.

You guys have fun, don't get in TOO much trouble :P

Guess what I did! (12 hours ahead of schedule though!)

fkfkfkfkfkfkfk, the previous owner must have overtightened it, i took out the bolt and some threads came with it. I put it back in and it's holding but I can't ride all the way to Lake Geneva worrying that it might shoot out.

Uuuuuugh.
