I posted that last post as a joke...but I didn't really know how many people sell those letters online (and more) and how cheap they are!
These are more appropriate styles!

Where are that thing's front turn signals? I want to take my bug eyes off... but I guess it's illegal...

By the way - I entered this thread like "wtf" but then realized what you were talking about. I always have to stop and look at the scooters in MW3... I'm on a PS3 though.

No mirrors either. I thought you need at least the left one.

Don't know enough about the SS to know if it's a euro model or not but they didn't come with signals. Pre 1974 models are grandfathered in from signals and lights. At least in CA. My ET3 had neither mirrors or turn signals when I registered it.

I know nothing about old models so I'll trust the experts on all of that. If that's the case...that scooter is in great shape then!

Just noticed that the front wheel is only connected thru the right side as well. Single sided fork?

Yes, with a trailing-link suspension.
On the older ones (and continuing on the LML Stellas) the front rim is identical to the rear one, as is the bolt-pattern on the hubs. A spare wheel/tire assembly can be carried and will will fit both the front and rear hub (and the Stellas have it as standard equipment, carried under the left-side cowl).

And as a side-note, the rims on the Stella (as with older Vespas) are in two halves (left and right) and can be disassembled to facilitate replacing the tire and/or inner tube.
Aftermarket one-piece rims (for use with tubeless tires) are available, but not standard.

Dunno about AZ but hand signals are still legal in AL. Which I guess means that not having signals isn't illegal. But that's only a guess.

They didn't use to have turn signals back in the day, often if you register your vehicle as a vintage you don't have to add them either.
