How many miles did you get out of the stock tire?

I got 6,000 miles on my stock Cheng Shin. I probably could have gotten another 500 to 1,000, but since I had no center tread left, I figured I'd change it out. Especially since I was itching to try the Heidenau K61's.

I went 7,200 on the stock Maxxis on my 150. Your results will vary a lot depending on your weight, how you ride and whether you have a topcase or not. Some people have changed their back tire at as little as 4,000 miles.

I have a case in the back, weigh 180, and ride at 50mph for stretches of several miles between stoplights on my commute.

I'm at 6000 miles and it's starting to wear flat in the middle of my rear. Need to start shopping soon for tires and brake shoes for the rear.

Any suggestions in brands and best place on prices online?

9,600+ miles on my 2007 Buddy original rear tire. Just changed it last week, along with the belt and rollers.

I asked for another original tire... the guy behind the desk informs me that I could get a "stickier" tire... my answer???? I want another one just like the one that gave me 9,600+ miles~!

The speed you ride will also affect tire longevity. The faster you ride, the hotter the tire gets, the softer the rubber gets, and the more rapidly it wears out. I get roughly 4000 miles out of a rear tire. That's best case. But I am definitely a worst case scenario for rear tire life. I sit at the very back of my seat, have a top case, and often ride long and fast.

I think I'm on my third rear tire (Shinko whitewalls) and it'll last till 10K.

I replace the rear tread about every 4K but that's just riding habits/style. No topcase and I don't sit back past the seam.
My current rear tire isn't going to get 4K out of it though. Maybe less in the warmer temps?

I got 4,800 out of my original Prima whitewall, however I ride on chip-and-seal roads which if you're not familiar with are like riding on rough grit sandpaper.

2,100 miles. I changed my Prima whitewall out as soon as I could. I like Heindenau's.

The mechanic that helped thought I was a little nuts, but I have no regrets.
