Buddy 125 warranty poll

Post by voodoosix »

I'm trying to get a ratio of parts failures on the Buddy 125, and am wondering what kind of percentage of owners have had to have something fixed under warranty.

If you've had to use your warranty- what was the problem and how long did it take to get you bike back?

One reason this poll may give a pretty inaccurate representation: a disproportionate number of people experiencing a problem join forums. But, all things considered, these numbers don't look too bad.

Parts availability for some things has been problematic. I hope that this improves as time goes by. Genuine was a little overwhelmed by the demand for Buddys, I think.

That said, I've been waiting on a Vespa part for something like 6 weeks now. Bah.

I bought my Buddy in early July and only have 900 miles on it but so far no problems at all.

Buddy was in three times for idle problems. The first was a well-known one--that of a foreign substance on the idle circuit. A few other Buddys across the nation have experienced the same problem.

I rode Buddy (note: Susan named it, not me) into Scooterville last fall and they immediately fixed the problem. Well, sorta. It took a couple more visits to adjust the idle up until it wouldn't stall.

Technically, I wouldn't really consider these to be warranty issues, although they probably were. I would actually chalk this up to a dealer that is very good at diagnosing a problem and fixing it on the spot. We never even filled out any paperwork. In and out, just like that.
