Buddy 170i Seat Unlock!!!!

I have to use 2 hands every time to unlock and pop the seat up. Most of the time I have to work it for a few seconds for turn the key a time or three or four before it unlocks.
Is what I'm experiencing normal for these scooters? I realize that the locking and seat is pretty cheap but heck, it shouldn't be this much of a hassle.

I turn the key with one hand and pull up with the other.

The latching mechanism is adjustable. Your dealer should be able to do this and for you under warrantee.

There is a how too in the tech forum but before i did that i would loosen the 2 10mm nuts on the hinge leave them snug and close your seat that realign the latch and bar

Yup, it should just pop up when you turn the key. It's an easy fix. Either have your dealer do it under warranty, or follow this article to do it yourself.

Sweet! Thanks for the info guys. I'll go ahead and adjust it myself. I knew it shouldn't have been this hard to get unlocked.

Fixed! So easy and now works perfectly again.
I even put some medium strengh thread lock on both the adjusting and retaining nut threads so hopefully I wont have to fight to get the seat up at the gas pump again!
Thanks guys.

I'd suggest using some medium threadlock on the retaining nut and adjusting nut for the seat. Should hold it in place a little better.
