Did anybody else go see, "Quadrophenia: Can you see the real me? The Story behind the Album" tonight? Supposedly it's a one-shot in movie theaters. There was a fair amount of period video of mods and The Who. Mostly it was a lot of Pete Townsend and other players cluing you in on Quadrophenia. There's a photo in the book that came with Quad that always seemed "wrong" to me. The photographer who did the book explains that damned photo so that I now can consciously articulate what it means. It was a great A-HA moment that was worth the whole effort for me.
There wasn't really much about scooters, per se, except that they were part and parcel of the story and the scene, but there is a lot of interesting stuff in the movie. Oh yeah, on the way out of the theater I saw three vintage scooters chained together in the parking lot, looked like an Li, a smallie and another vintage Vespa I couldn't identify from afar.
