This thread is kinda scooter related... I called NoHo and for a basic service this Sat. but can't go now cos my sister is having identical twin boys. The doctors just confirmed. So I'm going to try to do a do-it-myself oil and gear oil change. I understand, cos there are videos about the oil change, but what about the gear oil? What type of gear oil should I use. and how do you do it?

And this thread from the tech library covers both oil changes, including oil type. The gear oil is very simple but you'll need some kind of syringe to get the oil into the fill hole as well as a solid way to measure how much you're putting in there.

Unless she has the boys and gets home on Saturday, I don't see a problem.

Re the gear oil, it really is pretty simple to do. Just take care not to over fill. Remember that not all 90mm comes out, so you'll want to put a tad under 90mm back in. Something like 85mm or so. The fool proof way to do it is to measure what comes out and put the same amount back in.

Also, incase you need one, a simple way to get a calibrated syringe is to go to PetCo and buy one of the syringes they sell for giving pets liquid food. $4 I think it was. Then go to your local hardware store and get a short length of clear rubber hose to attach to it. It just needs to be long enough to reach the bottom of your quart of gear oil. $.50. Presto, calibrated gear oil syringe. Cheap and easy, just the way I like it
