Side Panel cracked on New Buddy 50

Hi,

Has anyone had problems with their lower (under the footboard) side panels? I just bought my Buddy 50 (less than 50 miles on it -- driven it 6 days). No other drivers. Never been dropped or hit (only park it in a little cut out of my driveway and at a bike rack at work where cars can't get to). Not a scratch or dent on it. Talked to dealer today and guy there said he'd take a look at it, but acted as if I 1) didn't know what I was talking about and 2) like I had done something to the bike.

Easy and cheap

I had my buddy for 4 years (before I sold it) and I replaced parts due to wear and tear. The parts were cheap. I was surprised how cheap it was for my mechanic to get it and charge me labor.

You can never rule out someone bumping it or accidentally kicking it while it's near a bike rack or area where other people are moving around. People are careless and unfortunately a scooter shows the knocks and dings more than a car would.

Hopefully the dealer gives it a once over and can help you out.

Cracks in body panels really aren't a warranty issue unless something was defective about the particular panel from the start. This probably comes down to whether there is any indication that the panel was already cracked when you took possession of the bike. If it happened since you have owned the bike, I'd expect you will be reponsible for the repair. Fortunately, as Disney commented, the panels are not expensive.
