Alix almost got a speeding ticket on the P.E.A.C.E. scooter:

Got me wondering if anybody else has gotten ticketed for speeding on their Buddy.

As much as I haul ass around the city, no. I'm usually more concerned about a "cops who hate scooters" ticket for something dumb like an illegal lane change or lane splitting in a way they don't like.
I do slow when I see cops. GatsbyGirl always seems to be going WOT when she passes a police car, heh.

I got a speeding ticket about 10 years ago on a Vespa P200e.
I should have gotten a ticket today, I was following a city motorcycle cop weaving in & out of traffic. I figured if he could do it then so could I.

I am very careful around cops in LA because of all the horror stories I have heard.
But technically, when is lane splitting legal? I only do it at stop lights, but that may be because I am only 1000 miles into my life as a scooterist....

im full throttle most of the time i drive around town, but i do slow down for cops. the police in my town (norman, ok of all places) have a small town mindset, and commonly pull people over for stupid offenses all the time.
i have been followed on the scooter a few times and i have "hidden" from suspicious cops before. oh well, i get in more trouble in my car than i do on the scooter though...

I would imagine most cops with a radar gun would probably think they got a false reading if someone on a scooter set it off, plus I imagine most cops probably cant bring themselves to turn on the lights and siren and chase down someone on a scooter!
Can you imagine the radio traffic.............1 adam 12.....1 adam 12.......in HOT PURSUIT of a PINK SCOOTER for SPEEDING!
Dispatch..............Adam 12 do you require back up? (snicker-snicker)

I just got pulled over two weeks ago, at 4:15 in the morning on a weekday on my way into the office. The cop said he followed me at somewhere between 40 and 45 in a 30, but since he didn't actually match speeds or get me with the radar gun (only reasons I could think of, given he noticed my previous tickets from a couple years ago in my car), he just gave me a warning.
I can't help but wonder how much laughter it would cause back at the station...
On a side note, I really don't think Seattle cops know motorcycle laws, since legally I wasn't even supposed to be on the road. Still on my permit, so I am not supposed to be out in the dark. Stupid 24/7 on call job...

I got pulled over a month and a half ago for speeding.
I was on a divided highway and a cop was going Eastbound while I was travelling westbound. I knew I was hauling balls, but not sure exactly how fast. I also wasn't worried because the divided highway had a high very high median. Well, that was until I crested the hill and realized he radioed to his buddy.
The second copper pulled me over and informed me I was doing 64 in a 45. I played it off by acting amazed!

I said, "I didn't even know it would go that fast."
He laughed and asked if I "have that thing on nitrous?" I laughed with him and he told me to put my helmet on and slow down.

there are times when it is ok for it to be a tupperwear moped. and this is one of them. I would say, "but it is only a moped with a top speed of 42mph. ..Sir"

My impression is that most cops aren't going to bother with Scooters unless the riders do something incredibly dangerous or stupid. I think it just looks to silly to give a scoot a ticket.
