I can't claim that this is an original idea, but now that we have some nice mods to this site, let's help out a bit:

Q: Is the Buddy freeway legal?
A: In some states the Buddy is freeway legal. Check with your local DMV.

Q: Is the Buddy's speedometer off?
A: Lots of owners (if not all) have reported this issue. Apparently, it is off about 5-7mph.

Q: Who manufactures the Buddy and where?
A: PGO manufactures the Buddy in Taiwan.

Q: How fast does the Buddy go?
A: That depends on the weight of the rider, engine size (50 or 125CC) and terrain and weather conditions.

You get the idea. So let's post in.

This is a great idea—I've been wanting to cobble together something like this for new or curious riders & owners to make the answers more accessible and cut down on repeat questions. It's on my "to do" list once we get all the other sections in place and rolling.

But anyone wanting to start collecting FAQs & answers here is welcome to! Thanks.

Q: Is the Buddy freeway legal?
A: In some states the Buddy is freeway legal. Check with your local DMV. The 50cc is not highway legal, the 125cc is legal in some states, not in others.

Q: Is the Buddy's speedometer off?
A: Lots of owners (if not all) have reported this issue. Typically the Buddy, and most other scooters and motorcycles are about 5 to 15 percent optimistic. This is apparently by design. Most PGO (Genuine) scooter speedometers run about 10% optimistic - thus 30 mph is really 27 mph, 60 mph is really 54 mph, etc.

Q: Who manufactures the Buddy and where?
A: PGO manufactures the Buddy in Taiwan.

Q: How fast does the Buddy go?
A: That depends on the weight of the rider, engine size (50 or 125CC) and terrain and weather conditions. A standard (restricted) 50cc Buddy is limited to about 30 to 35 mph. A derestricted 50cc Buddy can typically reach 40 to 45 mph - derestriction may no be legal in your state, and will void the warranty on your motor. A 125cc Buddy can typically reach 65 to 70 (indicated) mph. Top speeds will be slower for larger riders and when riding two up.

Q: What gas mileage should I expect from a Buddy 50 or 125?
A: Generally speaking ###(someone help me out on this number) mpg for the 50cc and about 75-80mpg on the 125cc. Mileage will vary upon the weight of the rider, passenger (if any), weather, terrain and road conditions.
Q: How long is the warranty on the Buddy?
A: 2 years unlimited mileage (conditions apply) and 1 year reoadside assistance.
Q: Is the Buddy warranty transferrable?
A: No
