Good Deal? I Need Help!

I am looking at a 2009 Buddy 125, with 850 miles. Has a genuine top case and a windshield. Seems to be in excellent condition, with a few scratches from being laid down once. It is at a dealer on consignment. Second owner is selling, and dealership has service records since it was new. Dealership knows owner would accept $2,000, and they are going to see if they would take $1,800. Second owner bought scooter in June for $2,200. First service has been done.

Is this a good deal? I saw it today, and I have to say, I was impressed. Much nicer than I had expected, as it almost looks new.

I bought a used '08 with 5K miles for $1800 in May from a private seller.

Bummer about it being dropped; however, it still sounds like a good deal.

Will there be taxes/fees/etc.? If not, I'd say $1800 is a good deal.

1800 with a windshield and top case, if those are options you want, in good shape?

if it's serviced, it's a fine deal.

Panels are cheap to replace.

Vespas on the other hand are expensive to repair/replace body parts.

I hope that helps.

I would double check with Craigslist and see what they are going for in your area. May find one cheaper, but may not have service records... 850 miles is practiaclly brand new. $2,000 doesn't sound bad if you like it.

I bought a used 2009 with 3200 miles for $1000 in January. It had been down on both sides. Had a cracked mirror. Anytime a scooter has been down check the forks for leaks, make sure they arn't soft. Make sure both wheels are true. $2000 for scoot with body damage is high to me.

Dealer called yesterday and said owner would take $1800. I am very, very tempted. And the "body damage" you are worried about is really only a couple of minor scrapes/scuffs. I think it went down at a very slow speed, or when at a total stop. And yes, I would be paying TTL on top of the $1800.
