Removing buddy 170i handlebars to replace bodypart question

Post by mikkergimenez »

Hello,

I've been undergoing the project of removing the buddy 170i handlebars in order to replace the Lower handlebar cover, as I cracked it in a crash. The problem I'm having is I can't see any reference to a thin metal part that holds the right brake line in place. It's the last step and I can't remove the handlebars until release the brake line. Does anyone have any thoughts on how to get this loose? It looks like the solution might just be to bend the piece out of the way and then back, but I wanted to see if anyone else had any success doing this before I gave it a try.

Thank you.

This does not ring a bell to me, and we had to replace one of my Buddy's handlebars after it had been totalled and I bought it back from the insurance company (around 5,000 miles ago).

You might check the service manual out and see if it mentions it.
