My minivan hurt my Buddy

So, my wife left her minvan in "Drive" (and running) and went into the house for a jacket. The van moved forward and smashed my 2006 Buddy against a shelf in our garage. The van was outside the house and drove into the open garage, so it traveled about 20 feet before it hit the scooter. My 2 year old daughter was the only one in the van; thankfully no one was hurt (although I'm sure it was traumatic, my daughter is ok!). My wife is of course very sorry. But, my Buddy isn't looking too good. The van is fine (needs some touch up paint) and the buddy took the impact - so the house is fine. Several body pieces need to be replaced on the Buddy, including the license plate piece, front lower cover, front windshield body piece, and front bumper. I went on scooterlounge last night and I think I can get everything for around $300 - $400. Overall, it could have been worse. I drove the Buddy around the block and it appears drive ok. It was a low speed impact (and no one saw it), but how can I tell if there is more extensive damage (frame)? The front Fork looks ok and tires look ok. Also, is it worth contacting my local dealer for parts, or is Scooterlounge my best bet for price? Thanks!

Trust me on this.....if the framework or forks were bent in any way that affected alignment you will pick up on the feeling immediatly.

oof!

I hope your wife is VERY sorry. maybe sorry enough to let you buy whatever you want as a color for your buddy, and some accessories :P.

thanks everyone. Yes, my wife felt pretty bad, so I think I can get whatever parts I need.. I was actually thinking of getting a different colored panel (my 2006 is black with a silver lower panel, back in the rear). So, something like a red windshield panel and fender. Don't know however if that will look silly (red black and silver)... It seems to drive ok, so it must not have frame damage. I haven't taken really fast however..

Talk to your dealer about the parts and prices. Let them know you looked online and ask if they can match that. They may not be able to for whatever reasons, but if you like your dealer, it's good to give them a shot at it. :)

I second that! I like supporting my dealer, and they come through for me by being @ the same as I get online for most stuff.

Maybe the red/black/silver combo would look really cool!
